Membership to the Institute

The INJP is a professional body for practitioners working within the neighbourhood justice arena. Over time, we have created a series of benefits and effective tools designed to support our members in their strategic decision-making and their ever-growing operational responsibilities required of today's professionals. We recognise that they have individual needs and we can help them meet their personal professional challenges too.

The Institute does not allow organisational, affiliate or corporate membership and only allows individual practitioners to join the Institute.

Membership for Professionals working within Neighbourhood Justice is FREE.

All approved members of the Institute of Neighbourhood Justice Professional are allowed to use the following letters after their name in recognition of their professional membership:

Grades of membership

There is only one level of membership:

Member - Free to all Neighbourhood Justice Professionals

(This is subject to change when the institute moves towards Royal Chartered status)

As the Institute moves to Chartered status the INJP will be considering the following Draft Professional Membership Grades

An Associate member works in a role giving vital support to the key areas of neighbourhood justice (NJ) They use their specialist NJ skills and knowledge to support NJ leaders and managers.

A Chartered Member demonstrates the expertise needed to plan and manage generalist or specialist NJ operations. Combining their NJ professional knowledge, skill and insights with an understanding of an organisation's context and structure within a multi agency setting, they create and deliver integrated NJ services and solutions that help drive their organisations and multi agency partnerships needs.

A Chartered Fellow holds a strategic position and demonstrates the expertise to lead the key areas of NJ. Using their professional skills, knowledge and experience, they determine, develop and implement NJ strategies, plans and policies to promote and achieve multi  organisational success.

An Affiliate member is given direct access to INJP member services without having to demonstrate their professional knowledge and competence. Affiliate membership is not a professional grade.

A student member is someone who is working towards a professional level of membership.
